Project Description

Carlton Lakes

Carlton Lakes was a 245 acre parcel permitted for single and multi-family residential development by Turrell, Hall & Associates staff.  The project is located in North Naples near the Interstate. Permits were obtained from the South Florida Water Management District and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1997 for the development.  As compensation for wetland impacts, 52.28+/- acres of wetland, upland and buffer are preserved onsite and 22 acres were purchased offsite in the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW) for preservation.  Following initial exotic removal onsite, the preserved areas onsite were maintained and monitored by Turrell, Hall & Associates for 6 years before being considered successful by agency staff.  In addition to wetland permitting, this project initially included a Threatened & Endangered Species Survey, a Gopher Tortoise survey and relocation permit, a mitigation analyses and a Red-cockaded woodpecker survey.
